Unbreak My Heart

Unbreak My Heart as a metaphor

Before she was a reality TV star, Toni Braxton was a great singer.

In Unbreak My Heart, she asks for the impossible.  “Unbreak” isn’t even a real word.

What wants is to reverse time and erase pain.

This is a common feeling when you’re looking to buy a home.  You may find the “perfect” home in Commack, only to have some “crazy” buyer come in $100K over ask.  But really, how “crazy” was the other buyer? You loved it, so did they.  They just went the extra mile (or $50K).

If you’re really upset, ask your broker to check in weekly to see if the deal is teetering.  If so, you can still swoop in.

More likely, learn from it.  If you missed out, realize that next time you “fall in love,” you need to go that extra mile yourself.  If you are borrowing money, and the bank will lend it to you (and you’re being honest with them), you can afford it.  Obviously, you’d like to have the house and the $100K.  The sooner you realize that isn’t always possible, the better off you’ll be, and the sooner you’ll find a house.
