I Like You (a Happier Song) by Post Malone

It's a love/lust song.  Pop 101.

When you find the house you want, it can feel a lot like infatuation.  You want THIS house and no other.

It can also feel like you're a better fit (or that you MUST be a better fit) than the other buyers.

When you feel this way, there are a couple of things you can do.

FIRST, appeal to the rational.  We are the best buyers because: 1) we are stable, 2) we have good credit, 3) we are putting 20% down, etc.

SECOND, appeal to the emotional (like Post Malone does here).  Tell the seller why it's important that they pick you.  Do you have kids starting school? Do you participate in non-profits? Why are you moving? You could even drop a letter in the seller's screen door.

Remember, showing emotion does expose you.  Showing that you're emotionally invested risks the seller taking advantage (asking for more $$$).  That said, if you do this, at least you have their attention.

The emotional appeal is particularly important when you believe your offer might not be the most attractive on paper.  Sellers, and everyone) wants to FEEL good about the deal.  This is definitely a card you can play.

Let's discuss it!
