Here Taytay is singing about a relationship that’s unique, once in a lifetime, perfect.  When you meet “the one” it’s seems impossible that it will work out.  And before you meet the one, you try to convince yourself the one you’re with is the one.

When you’re looking for a house, you’ll see houses you can “make work.”  You’ll turn your head and squint, you’ll imagine construction, or getting used to street noise, or changing the dormers so it doesn’t look so boxy.  Unlike relationship partners, many times you CAN change a house.  You CAN make it into something you actually want.

HOWEVER, when you find “the one,” you need to go all in.  You don’t want to let the winner go by, just because you hoped it would go for a few dollars less, or because it’s one school district away, or because there is a double yellow line in the street.  If you walk into a house, take a deep breath, and it feels like home…you need to acknowledge that feeling.  Why did you like it? Are there others that have this?

If you can’t put your finger on it, and you find yourself defending the wood paneling and the unfinished basement, it’s the world telling you to make this the one…and go for it!
