Disturbia is Rihanna’s 12 year old (!!) smash tied to a movie of the same name.
The song refers to being out of energy, stuck where you are. “No more gas in the rig….” After a few weeks or months on the trail of your new home it’s easy to get frustrated…to feel like you can’t see one more house. If this song and movie teach us anything, it’s to keep trucking (pardon the pun). If you stop when you get tired, you let happenstance determine your future. Learn from each search, each home, each deal, so your time is better spent. If you find you’re not “zeroing in” on your perfect home, ask yourself why. Is it my approach? Is it my budget? Am I prioritizing the wrong things? Is my agent focusing on my goals?
Dystopia (”Disturbia”) is what happens when you lose focus and stop.
Have you ever seen those ranches with the two wheels leaning against a rock by the gates? Those are people who “settled” where their wagons broke down (literally).
If you don’t want that to be you, focus on what you want, why you want it, and how to get it.
